What to do right now
- Switch it off nowHold the power button. Don't keep checking whether it still works.
- Unplug and don't charge itPower is what turns a spill into burnt components.
- Skip the rice and hairdryerRice does nothing for corrosion. Heat pushes liquid further in.
- Bring it in quicklyEvery day of corrosion makes the repair, and the data recovery, harder.
Common causes
- CorrosionLiquid plus power eats through tiny components and tracks on the board within days.
- Short circuitsLiquid bridges pins and burns out chips the moment the Mac is switched on.
- Sugar and milkSweet drinks leave sticky residue that keeps conducting after drying.
How we fix it
We strip the Mac down, clean the board in an ultrasonic bath, remove corrosion and replace every damaged component. If your files were never backed up, we recover them as part of the job.
Questions
Before you book
Will I lose my files?
Usually not. In most cases the data is still on the Mac. We recover it before or as part of the repair, and we tell you before doing anything that could affect it.
Are you Apple?
No. We are an independent repair and data recovery workshop with Apple-certified technicians. Unlike a board replacement, our component-level repair keeps your original board and your data.
