Logic board repair that keeps your data
We repair the board you've got instead of replacing it. It usually costs less, and on newer Macs it's the only way to keep the files that were never backed up.
One fault, not a whole new board
Most dead logic boards have a single failed part: a shorted capacitor, a burnt charging chip or a corroded connector. It sits on one line of the board and stops the whole Mac.
Replacing the board fixes that by throwing away everything else too, including the storage on newer Macs. We repair the one part and keep the rest.
How a board repair works
Measure
Bench power supply and multimeter checks show which power rail is failing.
Locate
Thermal imaging and the board's schematics narrow it down to a single component.
Replace
The failed part is removed and replaced under the microscope with hot air and fine-tip soldering.
Test and recover
The Mac is booted, your data is checked and the machine is stress-tested before collection.

Questions
Board repair FAQ
What should I do straight after a spill?
Switch the Mac off and unplug it. Don't charge it or try to turn it on to check, and don't use rice or a hair dryer. Bring it in as soon as you can, because corrosion keeps spreading.
Why repair the board instead of replacing it?
Two reasons. A repair usually costs much less than a new board. And on 2018 and later Macs, a new board can't read your old encrypted storage, so repair is the only way to keep your files.
Another shop said my board can't be fixed. Can you look?
Yes. Many boards we repair have already been written off elsewhere. We tell you honestly after diagnosis whether it can be done.
