Logic board replaced and your files are gone?

Common causes
- Encrypted storageT2 and Apple silicon Macs lock the storage to the original board.
- Soldered storageThe SSD is part of the board, so it went with the old one.
- Nobody asked about backupsBoard swaps are quick, but they don't move your data.
How we fix it
We repair the original board on our bench until it boots, unlock it with your password and copy your files across to your Mac or a new drive.

Will I lose my files?
Usually not. In most cases the data is still on the Mac. We recover it before or as part of the repair, and we tell you before doing anything that could affect it.
